The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with the Bank Customer Experience (BCX) Summit at the Sofitel Chicago Magnificent Mile. The Best in Bank Customer Experience Awards honor innovative, consumer-focused financial institutions and fintech providers whose branches and technologies are heightening the customer or member experience.

Judges commented that "Bank of America does a really nice job of integrating the human touch with advanced technology. The best big-bank experience I've seen," and “Quite innovative. A good example of an omnichannel banking experience."

Judges commented that “With usability being a key component of any app, it seems HDFC Bank has found the right mix to lure customers into mobile banking and keep them happy,” and "With an ability to understand customers' needs and tailor and serve-up appropriate content, users will undoubtedly welcome the user experience and want to explore the apps' features."
One judge said that “Aadhaar Pay is allowing India to leapfrog the older, long-established and less merchant- and consumer-friendly technologies that drive payments in developed markets. And it is doing so in a manner that is simple to implement and use, universally available and relatively inexpensive.”
"An interesting proposition to add value and relevance to banks' mobile offerings. The app looks to be well thought out, useful and user-friendly," one judge observed. Another said that "A good way for banks to help differentiate themselves from others. Speaks to the ability to help customers with money-savings offers by going to them with alerts as well as giving customers the ability to find deals on their own."
