Aire uses an algorithm and built-in sensors to navigate through homes.

Have you ever arrived at work only to ask yourself, did you leave the stove on? With Aire’s capabilities you can check your home anytime with no blind spots, giving you full visibility and peace of mind.

Today, Aevena launched their Kickstarter campaign for Aire, a self-flying home robot. It is now available on Kickstarter starting at $699.

Aire is a flying robot designed from the ground up to fit in a home environment. It stands out with a unique and beautiful design, and innovative features. It’s the first flying indoor robot to be introduced to the market. With a non-threatening, sleek shape and fabric exterior, it’s safe to use at home, even around kids and pets.

“We wanted something that would help users connect with their homes while they were away. Have you ever arrived at work only to ask yourself if you left the stove on? Or wanted to check on how the kids were doing? With Aire’s capabilities you can check your home anytime with no blind spots, giving you full visibility and peace of mind,” said founder and CEO Jeffrey Tseng.

Aire’s onboard sensors and powerful processors allow it to fly and navigate indoors even without GPS. When it’s close to the dock, it automatically docks and charges itself with the click of a button. Aire comes fully equipped with 360 degree obstacles avoidance using a combination of sonar and 3D depth sensors. Its main camera is 4K and has night vision when used in the dock. Over-the-air-updates will enable new features and modes of operation in the future.

“Beyond home monitoring, Aire allows you to take high quality photos of special family moments like family reunions or a night with close friends, all from the comfort of your phone or even by voice with Alexa integration,” Tseng added.

To bring its vision of a premium and intelligent robot that fits effortlessly into the home, Aevena collaborated with Huge Design, an industrial design firm with a track record of working on personal robots. As a result, the Aire's design marries technical sophistication with a new level of seamless interaction within the connected home.

“Striking the right balance between intelligent, high-tech robot and family-friendly, lifestyle product was at the forefront of our minds when developing the design for Aire. Had it looked too technical, it could have quickly become ‘just another gadget’ that could have felt at odds with the home environment. Equally, we didn’t want to make it look overly approachable or toy-like as this would have detracted from the truly innovative piece of equipment that it is,” said Bill Webb, Partner at Huge Design.

Aire’s campaign will run from September 19 to October 19, with an estimated delivery date of November 2018. For more information on the pledge levels, visit the Kickstarter page.
