The segment, developed for PBS Member Stations, will discuss new trends in illumination.

"Success Files," a short and long-form documentary style show featuring host Rob Lowe, takes a look of the growing trend that is custom lighting solutions.

Custom lighting solutions are a movement away from traditional lighting systems that have been around since the invention of the light bulb toward energy efficient, smart, and customizable designs that meet the aesthetic qualities an individual may want. Custom solutions for lighting are coming of age as a green solution, featuring LED lighting. The lower energy transfer and lower cost associated with newer custom lighting solutions not only make economic sense, but it helps homeowners, businesses, and other users of these systems meet local green initiative targets and reduce carbon footprints.

LED, which stands for light emitting diodes, provides a cost effective alternative to traditional light bulbs and systems. A New York Times article explained the benefits of newer LED bulbs to consumers and how making the transition from the old to the new did not require a hard sell on the benefits to the planet and the community. The show looks closely at how customized lighting came into being as a preferred solution for different types of users (consumer and business), and examine this trend from a firsthand perspective.

"Success Files" is an award-winning, independently produced program hosted by Rob Lowe containing educational content that is high in its clarity and emotion. It is distributed for airing through various media outlets based on their discretionary scheduling.
