Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) September 22, 2017 -- Idaho personal injury law firm Pedersen & Whitehead, is proud to announce that its Associate Attorney Michael J. Hanby II has been chosen as a member of the 2017-2018 class of the Idaho Academy of Leadership for Lawyers (IALL). This leadership program, sponsored by the Idaho State Bar, is a highly-selective and well-regarded leadership training program for lawyers from across the state. Attorney Hanby is one of only 15 lawyers from across the state selected to the 2017-2018 class. Participants were notified of their selection to the IALL on July 28.
The mission of the IALL is to promote diversity and inspire the development of leadership within the legal profession. IALL accomplishes its mission by bringing together lawyers from a variety of practice areas with different backgrounds from across the state. IALL utilizes a core group of strategies to build upon each participant's leadership skills and promote new, valuable and enriching leadership experiences.
Participation in IALL involves a two-year commitment of leadership training followed by a legacy project. In year one, participants take part in five one or two-day sessions where they expand or hone their leadership skills and learn about the broad range of issues and challenges facing leaders in the community and legal profession today. After completing the year-long program, IALL graduates are asked to develop and implement a service project in the following year which will benefit their local legal community and/or the community as a whole.
Applicants must be admitted to the practice of law for a minimum of five years or have practiced law and have five years of professional experience. Applicants must describe their desire to participate in the program and detail their past involvement in serving the legal profession or participation in community service activities or organizations. The application process also includes a review of the applicant's Bar file for grievance or discipline matters, and the application must be submitted along with references.
Michael Hanby is a cum laude graduate of Boise State University who earned his Juris Doctor law degree from the University of Idaho College of Law, where he served as Fall Edition Editor of the Idaho Law Review and interned for the Honorable Larry M. Boyle of the United States District Court for the District of Idaho. Michael focuses his legal practice on the representation of personal injury victims who have suffered harm due to the negligence of others in automobile and trucking accidents, medical malpractice cases, or wrongful death. He additionally handles a range of insurance disputes, including bad faith insurance claims and insurance agent errors and omissions. Michael is a member of the American Association of Justice and also serves on the board of the Idaho Trial Lawyers Association.
