Author Cosimo Filane's Newly Released "You Can't Win Them All" Is the Story of a Businessman and Hockey Coach Who Brought the Best out of the Young Athletes He Mentors
(PRWEB) September 23, 2017 -- “You Can't Win Them All”: the story of an entrepreneur and a family man whose work with his partner in their business ventures and on the ice changed the lives of young athletes. “You Can't Win Them All” is the creation of published author, Cosimo Filane. Cosimo Filane was born and educated in Schreiber, a small town in Northern Ontario, Canada. He is an entrepreneur who manages to crowd a singing career and coaching into an already hectic schedule consumed by his two motels and service station. An accomplished singer, he has four albums to his credit. At the time of this writing, he was working on his fifth. For many years now, people in the area have come to know Cosimo through his regular appearances on telethons helping raise money for worthwhile charities. Throughout his life, he has been fascinated with hockey and spent the last several years coaching teams in the minor league. This book is a result of his experiences. Much of the book is based on real events as well a great deal of creative imagination. The result is a story that entertains and reveals some of the problems that a coach faces.
“A dusty pickup truck rolled along the black ribbon of asphalt that weaved and twisted through the rolling, spruce-covered hills along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Not a heavily populated area of the country, it is possible for one to drive many miles without seeing any signs of habitation. The only indicators announcing the approach to one of the small communities, which dot the rim of the lake, are the road signs warning motorists of a reduction in the speed limit.” --Cosimo Filane
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Cosimo Filane’s new book tells the story of a legendary businessman and coach.
Dean is a family man who is kept busy by a variety of business ventures. His passion, however, is coaching hockey and administrating the league in a small North Ontario town. It is what makes him happiest.
Facing conflict due to the way he coaches the game and runs the organization, he is undaunted. He eventually finds an ally in a young singer who comes to town. After joining Dean in his business and sports ventures, the two are able to bring out the best in their young students as well as their opponents.
“I found it highly entertaining. I really enjoyed the book. Tells behind the scenes of coaching minor hockey. Blue enjoyed it too.” --Don Cherry
“Filane’s blood and gut story from Northern Ontario of a Northern Ontario lad trying to get into the cruel, real world of hockey is a true-to-life good read.” --Richard Rohmer
