Jessica K. GIllespie, debut author from Hitterdal, Minnesota, has completed her new book “River Creek Stables: Second Chances”: an encouraging novel of compassion and perspective.
“Living on a farm in rural Hitterdal, I spend much of my time with my family’s sheep, horses and dogs,” Gillespie says, “which helped provide the inspiration for my novel.” Currently, Gillespie is writing the second installment of the River Creek Stables series.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Jessica K. Gillespie’s developmental tale follows Natasha Petrakos, a young girl in search of a better life, who is sent to live with her estranged and mysterious uncle on his horse racing farm.
Feeling out of place at the farm and at the strict mercy of her uncle, Natasha finds Blazing Glory, a once-great champion that has turned wild and unmanageable after a career-ending injury. But beneath the dangerous wildness, Natasha finds a misunderstood mare in need of love. With a newfound sense of purpose, Natasha resolves to give Blaze a second chance, in secret from uncle.
Readers who wish to experience this compassionate work can purchase “River Creek Stables: Second Chances” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Kobo, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
