In “Sky and I”, a young boy was walking home and feeling down about himself. He didn’t think he was good enough. He meets a new friend who tells him otherwise. The new friend says he can do whatever he wants to do if he puts his mind to it. She reassures him that he is special and good enough just the way he is. God created him with special talents and gifts. We see his internal dialogue change. He begins to believe in himself and tune out those around him who are discouraging.
“Sky and I” is the creation of published author, Shronda Sledge, founder and CEO of Grace’s Inn, a nonprofit that assists homeless families in Georgia. She is passionate about helping children understand their self-worth and reassuring them that god loves them and is always there for them.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, “Sky and I” is an effective tool for teaching self-confidence. In this beautifully illustrated book, children learn that they are important. They are special and worthy of love. They are capable of accomplishing anything they want with the gifts and talents given to them by God. They learn to build confidence and listen to the voices within them, and learn to tune out the discouraging words around them. God is always around and will guide and comfort them along their life’s journey.
