General Plastics Manufacturing Company Awarded Nadcap Accreditation
Tacoma, Wash. (PRWEB) September 25, 2017 -- General Plastics Manufacturing Company, global supplier of high-performance polyurethane foam products and composite parts, is proud to announce that it received the Nadcap accreditation for Measurement and Inspection (AC7130 Rev. 1), specifically for its Coordinate Measuring Machine (AC7130/1 Rev A.). The Nadcap designation allows General Plastics’ inclusion in the Performance Review Institute (PRI) Qualified Manufacturer’s List (QML), joining a group of only 61 companies in the nation to attain this standard.
Receiving Nadcap accreditation AC7130 Rev. A and AC7130/1 Rev. A further defines General Plastics’ commitment to provide quality products, parts and services to its customers. In addition to this accreditation, the company is certified to ISO 9001:2008/AS9100C, and meets quality systems NQA-1, MIL-I-45208A and Boeing Company D6-82479.
“The quality assurance team of General Plastics worked together to ensure that our quality system is up to the standards set by a worldwide cooperative of major companies in the aerospace, defense and automotive industries,” said General Plastics’ Quality Inspection Engineer Rob Ingham. “Passing the audit and receiving the Nadcap accreditation not only opens up the market to us, it also demonstrates our company’s commitment to satisfy customer requirements as well as the standards of quality and safety set by the industry.”
Nadcap is administered by Performance Review Institute (PRI) which is a not-for-profit globally-recognized organization that certifies special products and processes for aerospace, automotive and related industries. A select group of major companies work together to determine the requirements for accreditation in order to ensure the quality and safety standards within their sectors. The group includes, among others, Airbus, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Rolls Royce, and Lockheed Martin.
“Achieving Nadcap accreditation is not easy: it is one of the ways in which the aerospace industry identifies those who excel at manufacturing quality product through superior special processes. Companies such as General Plastics Manufacturing Company work hard to obtain this status and they should be justifiably proud of it,” said Joe Pinto, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at the Performance Review Institute. “PRI is proud to support continual improvement in the aerospace industry by helping companies such as General Plastics be successful and we look forward to continuing to assist the industry moving forward.”
