The “Beyond All-Inclusive, Beyond All Compare” Grand Velas Resorts in Los Cabos and Riviera Nayarit announce their 2017 Wellness Getaways inclusive of industry leaders, wok and vegetarian cooking classes, Spa Atelier workshops, therapeutic concerts, juice therapy, beach bootcamps and other mindful wellness activities. The Wellnessing Getaway: A Mindful Journey at Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit (Oct 4-7) features unique fitness classes like Soul Yoga and Antigravity Yoga; a therapeutic concert; Buddhist meditation; tea tastings by Mexican Tea Master Olivia Medina de Eurote; a class specifically on wellness for cancer and aging; and juice therapy. Participants will also learn to master the 2,000-year-old tradition of weaving their own dreamcatcher. Known as the ‘Huichol Eye’ which means ‘The Eye of God’, this ancient craft process has been present for centuries amongst the native populations of Coras and Huicholes. A highlight of the activities will be cooking demonstrations on sumptuous salads and versatile vegetarian dishes from award-winning cook book author, nutritionist and culinary instructor, Robyn Webb, MS. The long time Food Editor of Diabetes Forecast Magazine and the Health and Wellness Editor for The Daily Basics, she has also written 17 cookbooks, including the World Gourmand Award for Best in the U.S. Winner for Health and Wellness for both her latest book, The Perfect Diabetes Comfort Food Collection (2016) and her biggest bestseller The Diabetes Comfort Food Cookbook (2011). The Wellnessing Getaway: A Grateful Journey at Grand Velas Los Cabos (Nov 22-26) also features juice therapy, yoga, and therapeutic concerts in addition to a fire ceremony, session on Mapping Gratitude and Happiness, healthy cocktail mixology and DIY workshops on aromatherapy, organic scrubs, and creating natural mandalas. Wok Star Eleanor Hoh will lead a series of workshops to learn to “Cook Like a Wok Star.” With classes like an Introduction to a Wok Star’s Approach to Cooking and A Typical One Dish Meal to How to Poach Fish in a Wok, participants will learn to create 30 minute, one-dish, healthy dinners in a wok; four basic seasonings for sauces and marinades; and how to stir fry like a pro. Busy lifestyles will take home fast, easy, healthy, no recipe and no measuring techniques and tips for one’s own creations. Coaching over thousands on the creative cooking process, Hoh currently gives cooking classes hosted by upscale kitchen design showrooms in South Florida.
