In Elizabeth, New Jersey, Hispanic Heritage Month Comes Alive on Elizabeth Avenue
Elizabeth, New Jersey (PRWEB) September 27, 2017 -- EAP Chairman Angel Rodriguez of State Farm Insurance stated, "We are very excited to highlight some of our great restaurants this year, where you can enjoy some great food along with awesome music! So come on down to Elizabeth Avenue and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month the way it should be celebrated!"
Three Latin Jazz concerts will take place between the hours of 12-2 p.m. featuring a wide variety of salsa, meringue, cumbia and bachata at the following restaurants:
On Wednesday, September 27th between 12-2 p.m. at El Charrito Paisa, 659 Elizabeth Avenue, featuring delicious fusion of Colombian and Mexican Cuisine, they will offer half price appetizers. The beautiful and spacious interior is decorated in a rustic Latin motif and features the Molcajete Charrito, which is a typical Mexican dish served with beef, chicken, shrimp, onions, chipotle sauce, avocado and fresh cheese, and La Bandeja Paisa, which is a typical Colombian dish served with grilled steak or chicken, rice, beans, fried pork, sausage, avocado, corn pie, fried egg, and fried sweet plantain.
The second concert will take place at Don Felix Bar and Restaurant on Tuesday, October 3rd, located at 559 Elizabeth Avenue. Specials for the day include 20% off all meals and the featured meal of the day will be Steak and Peppers. Don Felix opened in 2016, a spectacular American-Latin Fusion, and offering salads, wraps, burgers, pasta, steaks and seafood and is home to the ‘All Day’, $3 Margarita and Pina Colada. An outdoor backyard patio adds a nice touch for warm days and Happy Hour specials take place all week, featuring half price appetizers and drink specials. A DJ plays every Friday and Saturday.
The final concert will take place on Tuesday, October 10th at La Cabana Mexican Restaurant located at 901 Elizabeth Avenue. Free coffee and dessert will be served between 12-2 p.m. with all lunch orders. La Cabana has been serving authentic Mexican cuisine for over a decade now on Elizabeth Avenue. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, La Cabana is decorated in traditional tacqueria décor, complete with large artistic wall murals. Owner Miguel Barajas has added his own personal touch to time honored traditional family recipes resulting in savory dishes which are all made fresh on the premises.
Hispanic Heritage Month in the Elizabeth Avenue Partnership Special Improvement District runs from September 15th to October 15th each year. This time frame was chosen as the starting point for the celebration because it is the anniversary of independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. They all declared independence in 1821. In addition, Mexico, Chile and Belize celebrate their independence days on September 16, September 18, and September 21, respectively.
