Whether attending an event online or in-person, we want to make these experiences valuable to the attendees and make sure they walk away from each event with all of the information they need to make an informed decision about seeking treatment
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 28, 2017
Shady Grove Fertility, a state-of-the art fertility care and IVF center with 41 physicians and 28 locations throughout MD, PA, VA, GA, and D.C., remains committed to educating the community and spreading awareness to individuals and couples about infertility through its ongoing educational series.
The events provide reliable, accurate, and current information about overcoming infertility so attendees can make informed decisions about taking that next step of scheduling a fertility consultation to learn more about treatment options. To make each event as informative as possible, all events—either virtual or in-person—conclude with a question and answer session with a physician expert allowing attendees to get their questions answered.
During the seminars, one of SGF’s reproductive endocrinologists will introduce the range of fertility treatments available—from basic, more low-tech options like intrauterine insemination (IUI) to more advanced treatments like in vitro fertilization (IVF) and donor egg. Shady Grove Fertility—whose treatment profile includes about 50 percent of treatments performed being low-tech—takes an individualized, stepped-care approach to infertility treatment, which has resulted in more than 50,000 babies born over the last 26 years—more than any other center in the nation.
Among SGF’s most popular education events is the upcoming Weight and Fertility webinar hosted by Dr. Melissa Esposito of SGF’s Harrisburg, PA and Frederick, MD offices. Dr. Esposito will discuss the effect of weight on fertility and how even modest weight loss can improve the likelihood of conception. Attendees will learn the impact weight—whether over or under—has on the ability to conceive and tips for maintaining and achieving a healthy body mass index (BMI).
“Whether attending an event online or in-person, we want to make these experiences valuable to the attendees and make sure they walk away from each event with all of the information they need to make an informed decision about seeking treatment,” says Lauren Roth, M.D., who will be hosting “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting" Seminar in Frederick, MD, on Tuesday, October 21, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. as well as the “What Your Menstrual Cycle Says about Your Fertility” (one of the most popular webinar topics that SGF offers) webinar on October 18, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. Many women remain unaware of what is normal vs. abnormal when it comes to their menstrual cycle. This webinar aims to shed light on this topic and provide valuable information so that women who are trying to conceive know exactly what signs to look for that could signal the need to see a fertility specialist.
At the in-person events, the physician expert will discuss the general fertility timeline, which includes four simple tests to diagnose infertility, treatment options, affording care, and success rates. The primary goal at Shady Grove Fertility is to not only help patients achieve a family, but to provide optimal, affordable patient care. “The patient comes first” is the core of the practice and what SGF believes is a strong differentiator among other fertility practices.
“While there is a great deal of inaccurate information about getting pregnant and fertility circulating in the social sphere, it’s our duty as leaders in our field to set the record straight about some of the common fertility myths our physicians hear from patients,” says Naveed Khan, M.D., of Shady Grove Fertility’s Leesburg, VA and Dulles, VA offices. Dr. Khan will dispel some of the common fertility myths at the “What to Expect When You’re Not Expecting” Seminar on October 5, 2017 in Leesburg, VA as well as the “Getting Started” webinar on October 12, 2017.
While all SGF in-person and online events are complimentary, interested parties must register to attend by visiting the Shady Grove Fertility calendar of events.
