Suzhou Tourism Launches "Suzhou Calligraphy Master” Twitter Contest
SUZHOU, CHINA (PRWEB) September 28, 2017 -- Today, Suzhou Tourism introduces the first installment of a four-part master class series showcasing the destination’s local traditions with the launch of the “Suzhou Calligraphy Master” contest on Twitter. In collaboration with travel personality and influencer Kelley Ferro, this one-week video-centric contest is designed to educate travelers about Suzhou’s rich cultural heritage in the art of calligraphy.
From today through 11:59pm EST on October 4, 2017, Twitter users will have the opportunity to “retweet” a video shared on the Suzhou Tourism Twitter account @VisitSuzhou for a chance to win a multi-night, experience-packed trip to Suzhou in early 2018. The video provides users a first-hand look at what it is like to train with a calligraphy master and what makes the traditional art practiced in Suzhou distinctive, as witnessed firsthand by Kelley Ferro. Users are also eligible to participate in the contest by “retweeting” the same video from Kelley Ferro’s Twitter account. Selected at random, the winner’s prize will include a trip for one person to Suzhou, inclusive of roundtrip coach airfare from a major gateway in the United States or Canada, four-nights’ accommodations, meals, an opportunity to “master” all four aspects of the campaign master class series – calligraphy, dumplings, silk, and bonsai – and a tour of the destination.
The “Suzhou Calligraphy Master” is the first of four online events to debut as part of the destination’s recently launched 12-month social media program, “MadeInSuzhou: Exploring Suzhou’s Local Specialties Through Digital Experiences.” The events are designed to educate and engage social media users about the elements that make up Suzhou’s local traditions and cultural offerings through fun and captivating content that allows them to ‘virtually’ experience the destination. In conjunction with the campaign’s online initiatives, Suzhou Tourism will engage well-known public sites in North America to further support the new program’s theme, which will include hosting four events across top-tier key markets such as New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.
Travelers can follow the campaign by visiting the website TravelToSuzhou.com or following the destination’s official hashtags #TravelSuzhou and #MadeInSuzhou, as well as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter channels (@VisitSuzhou).
