QUPI, the online medical question bank, has received its second round of funding. The startup aims to make it easier for medical students to pass their exams and become doctors through their online platform and upcoming mobile app.
CEO Damian Ratajczak has stated, “QUPI.com is the future of medical education and we are very excited to have received the support of our investors.”
Silicon Valley based angel investor Raymond Ho says, “The QUPI team have provided me the opportunity to revolutionize the medical education system and I have full confidence they will not disappoint me."
Created by an advisory board of medical students, doctors and educators, the Poznan based startup currently has 10,000 practice questions available to users on their website. With the new funds, QUPI plans to further develop their online platform and introduce a mobile app, which is expected in April 2018.
“It will be a world of medical knowledge in your pocket,” says COO Barrington Kirkham. The online platform is currently used by 9000 medical students around the world. QUPI aims to have 100,000 students by 2020.
CFO Izabela Szymczack says, “We are grateful for all the support we have received from our beta testers as well as our Kickstarter supporters and we look forward to making QUPI the best and most affordable medical education tool on the market.”
By making it easier for medical students to study for and pass their exams, the team behind QUPI hope to combat the global doctor shortage. The World Health Organization estimates the world is short 7.2 million healthcare workers. By 2035, that number is expected to rise to almost 13 million.
“The world desperately needs more doctors,” says CEO Damian Ratajczak, “This is why we created QUPI, to help the medical students of today become the doctors of tomorrow.”
Anastazja Naumczyk, a student at Poznan University of Medical Sciences, uses the platform to practice for her exams. She says the “Thousands of practice questions helped me pass the second year.”
