Flag and Banner to Fly Pink State Flag for Breast Cancer Awareness
Little Rock, Ark. (PRWEB) October 02, 2017 -- Flag and Banner has created a pink version of the Arkansas State Flag which will fly in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The state flag graphics will remain the same, however, the colors will become varying shades of pink. This version will fly at FlagandBanner.com’s headquarters in Little Rock, Arkansas throughout the month of October and will also be available for order. Production time is about two weeks.
The pink state flag trend began with Geoffrey Jackson, a widower who lost his wife to breast cancer. Featured in the Fall 2017 issue of Brave magazine, Jackson was working with a local Susan G. Komen organization in New Mexico when he had idea for a pink version of a state flag.
Jackson convinced the mayor of Albuquerque, along with a few local business managers, to fly a pink New Mexico state flag in 2015. Later, when Jackson was transferred to Phoenix, local mayors there agreed to fly the pink version of the Arizona state flag. More recently, business leaders in Texas, California, Utah and South Carolina have also agreed to fly pink versions of their respective state flags.
“I wanted the message to be more general,” Jackson said. “And that’s when it occurred to me — a flag, but not just any flag, a state flag.”
