Apple chose Pair because it best represents a high value, well designed and easy to use Augmented Reality app.
Apple is accelerating their promotion of AR to consumers, securing their place as a leader in the AR ecosystem as well as driving adoption of Apple devices that give a superior AR experience. Apple wants to drive more and more developers to create AR applications, and since the release of iOS11 has heavily promoted AR applications on the app store.
