Automated Insights’ Wordsmith has completely changed how our team interacts with Tableau. We can now ask the most pertinent questions directly within Tableau and receive real-time analysis from Wordsmith.
Durham, North Carolina (PRWEB) October 10, 2017
Automated Insights, Inc. (Ai), creator of Wordsmith, the world’s first self-service natural language generation (NLG) platform for the enterprise, today unveiled during the Tableau Conference 2017 keynote, a new integration to enable more people to integrate NLG directly within their Tableau dashboards. Ai first partnered with Tableau in 2016 around Tableau’s getData() API, which enabled lightweight integrations between Tableau and Wordsmith. During the Tableau Conference, Tableau shared a preview of its new Extensions API, which allows Ai to work with mutual customers such as NVIDIA to provide NLG based, real-time analysis within a Tableau dashboard, enabling the next phase of integration in both Desktop and Web.
With the preview of the Extensions API, Ai has produced the first instance of NLG delivered directly within a Tableau dashboard. By automating analysis and providing context within Tableau dashboards, Ai is enabling companies such as NVIDIA to expand the reach of their best data analysts across their organization. The integration allows NVIDIA to get a fully contextual explanation of their entire dashboard; explaining how the individual charts that comprise the dashboard are related and even surfacing insights that may not be visualized.
Ai also built a custom chatbot that allows NVIDIA team members to ask relevant business questions and receive automated, real-time analysis that reduces time between understanding metrics and making informed decisions.
“By using Wordsmith, NVIDIA’s busy marketing team can get concise, actionable takeaways from the data in their Tableau dashboards,” said Adam Smith, Chief Operating Officer at Automated Insights. “As a user explores the Tableau dashboard, they get personalized summaries telling them exactly what they need to know—all within a single, unified platform.”
“Our customers want the flexibility to be able to extend the functionality of Tableau to meet their specific needs and new APIs provide developers with new ways to add those capabilities directly into their dashboards,” said Francois Ajenstat, Chief Product Officer at Tableau. “We’re excited to have Ai as one of the first partners to embrace this new capability and to bring the power of NLG to more customers.”
“Automated Insights’ Wordsmith has completely changed how our team interacts with Tableau. We can now ask the most pertinent questions directly within Tableau and receive real-time analysis from Wordsmith,” said LaSandra Brill, Head of Digital Planning and Insights at NVIDIA.
