finding.wine Presents, Nov 13th 2007: Benjamin Romeo & His Iconic Wine, Contador
AVENTURA, Fla. (PRWEB) October 11, 2017 -- Miami’s newest fine wine private retailer and tasting room, finding.wine, yes it is .wine! Is bringing to its selective clientele rare and famous wines and winemakers. On November 13th., the iconic Spanish winemaker, Benjamin Romeo will present its line of cult-ish wines including the multi 100-pointer Contador.
Bodega Contador started back in 1995 when Benjamin Romeo acquired a centuries-old cave carved beneath the Castle of San Vicente de la Sonsierra. In 1996, Benjamin made the first vintage of his “La Cueva del Contador” and started to buy vineyards for his plan to become a bodeguero (wine producer) and in 1999 the first vintage of “Contador” from vineyards he acquired.
Benjamin didn’t start or stop here, he was the winemaker at Bodegas Artadi from 1985 to 2000. In 2000, after seeing these first wines favorably received by the market and press, Benjamin dedicated himself full time to his personal project. Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate awarded 100 points to the 2004 and 2005 vintages of Contador made in his parents’ garage.
In collaboration with the architect Hector Herrera, Benjamin designed and opened a new winery in June 2008, to coincide with the summer solstice. The three floors or terraces mirror the original slopes of the site where it is located, enabling both fruit and wine to be moved by gravity.
finding.wine prides itself in being a provider of top wines, aligned with Benjamin’s line of thinking who in an interview declared: “I am not a winemaker that produces wines for millionaires but rather wines that people can enjoy”.
The selection at finding.wine is very eclectic and almost paradisiac. Among the gems you can find browsing their online store or hanging out with a glass of wine during one of their tastings or by private appointment, just to mention a few; many vintages, blends and single varietals from Wendouree, an Australian wine from Clare Valley produced in a small stone winery that started in 1893. Moving to other parts of the world you will find the largest collection of Tokaji Aszu wines in the United States. Tokaji, “Wine of Kings, King of Wines” history dates centuries back but acquired international recognition when Louis XIV received some bottles from Francis Rákóczi, Prince of Transylvania and was served at the Royal French Court at Versailles.
Traveling further west you can find all the cult wines from Spain that continuously are awarded with +95pts. by international critics such as El Nido, including their 100pt. 2004 vintage and Clio (vertical tasting coming soon), the wines of the famous Eguren family in Rioja and Toro; Finca El Bosque, Alabaster, Amancio and La Nieta. Yet the most impressive of all is the stock of Vega Sicilia at amazing prices, the 12-vintage-vertical of Pingus which includes a 3-Liter of the 2001 vintage as well as the one-barrel-production Amelia wine in multiple vintages.
It is impossible to list all the hard to find collector’s items that you can find at finding.wine but to mention a few more: Finca VIllacreces “Nebro”, Pago de Los Capellanes “El Picon”, 1991 Casa Ferreirinha “Barca Velha”, 3-Liter bottles of Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque, 2005 Louis Roederer “Cristal”, Nicolas Feuillate Palmes D’Or (only ones in USA), Terlano Quartz, Remirez de Ganuza, Giuseppe Quintarelli and countless Magnums of Grower Champagne that will be presented October 20th in a Champagne Magnum Party at their private tasting room in Aventura, FL.
