The engagement module, which will be commercially available in early November, will provide healthcare organizations with the ability to:
- Engage patients via personalized text messages that are event or procedure specific, providing important instructions and reminders and delivered at the precise time necessary for the patient to receive and take action.
- Brand all automated texts and provide a custom icon so that the patient can easily identify where the communication is coming from.
- Determine how replies are handled for each type of communication, i.e. Do not reply, inclusion into the patient record in the EHR, etc.
As with all Vaporstream messages, all communications are secure, ephemeral and can be archived to a repository of the client’s choice for compliance purposes.
Despite the annual cost of missed appointments in the United States reaching $150 billion, 88 percent of appointment reminders are still manually and unreliably communicated via landlines. In fact, care team members spend 1.5 to 2 hours a day on the phone calling patients. Automated patient outreaches and reminders allow providers to repurpose the time and focus on billable patient care activities.
