BOSTON (PRWEB) October 19, 2017
New England College of Business (NECB) announced today that it will host a free webinar entitled, “How to Speak Geek: Demystifying Analytics for HR Professionals.” The session will take place on Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. EDT.
Featuring a demonstration of the acclaimed visualization tool Tableau Desktop, the “How to Speak Geek” webinar will focus on how to understand the language surrounding data and analytics, which is often rife with acronyms and other industry-specific jargon.
The one-hour webinar will touch on a variety of topics, including the definition of big data and how it is used in human relations, the meaning of descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics, and how HR professionals can utilize visualization techniques to aid them in their jobs.
Hosted by Dr. Rich Huebner, an expert in data, the presentation will allow attendees to walk away with the ability to “speak geek,” and ease the path to getting started with visualization and analytics projects.
Huebner is a Principal Data Architect for New England Quality Care Alliance, where he is responsible for leading and executing the planning, design and implementation of data warehouse solutions. He is also a current faculty member at NECB, teaching graduate courses in HR Analytics, Statistics, MIS and Operations Management.
With more than two decades of work as a database administrator, IT project manager, data analyst and other positions involving data, Huebner has authored over 15 articles on the subject.
“How to Speak Geek” is the first of a series of three webinars specifically designed for professionals at all levels of the HR industry. Upcoming webinars will focus on the candidate experience and creative destruction of performance appraisals.
“Language around big data can be difficult to comprehend at times, and the goal of this webinar is to help clarify it as much as possible,” said NECB President Howard Horton, Esq. “Participants will walk away with a greater understanding of HR, data analytics and the tools to visualize this data.”
