While studies indicate that by 2018 it will be 2 to 3 percent cheaper to manufacture raw materials in United States rather than in China, 80 percent of manufacturing employers are still reporting an inability to find the skilled labor they need. Furthermore, with over 10,000 baby boomers retiring daily, the United States must work to fill the 2.2 million manufacturing jobs opening between now and 2022.

In light of such numbers, the “Modern Manufacturing” campaign encourages manufacturers to invest in the American workforce. It highlights the benefits of advanced recruiting, training and the implementation processes within this economic sector to develop a new labor force. These efforts will continue to revolutionize the supply chain process and benefit everyone from producers of raw materials to retail-end consumers.

The print component of “Modern Manufacturing” was distributed within USA Today, with a circulation of approximately 250,000 copies and an estimated readership of 750,000 viewers across the nation. The digital component is distributed nationally, through a vast social media strategy, and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets.
