Signature Gives Back: New Hope to Distressed Families
BOCA RATON, Fla. (PRWEB) November 27, 2017 -- Amid the brilliant lights and bustling of vintage pinball machines and skeeball, Signature Gives Back, Inc. (SGB) raised more than $10,000 during its First Annual Fundraiser. Silverball Museum in downtown Delray Beach served as the backdrop for SGB’s sold-out event on October 19, 2017.
“Our fundraiser exceeded our most optimistic expectations. We raised a remarkable amount of money to benefit families impacted by recent hurricanes, and more than 200 people enjoyed a magical evening doing so,” says Jack Jaiven, Executive Vice President of The Signature Real Estate Companies, and SGB Co-Chair.
SGB has earmarked 100 percent of the event proceeds to be directly donated to two deserving families, including one young woman helping relatives from Puerto Rico relocate to South Florida with an emotional support dog. While distressed, she says “things are taking shape” thanks to the organization’s assistance and, in particular, to the advocacy of Co-Chair Wendy Pressner.
“I was astounded at the generosity of our fellow Realtors® and friends in our community,” says Pressner, adding that the event symbolizes SGB at its best and “is the change we wish to see in this world.”
The SGB Committee decided the current housing situation caused by 2017’s hurricanes warranted the direct attention of the group’s fundraising efforts. South Florida’s tri-county housing landscape since Hurricanes Irma and Maria is undergoing rapid change.
“Florida stands ready to provide whatever is needed, both in Puerto Rico and in Florida,” said Kerri Wyland, a spokeswoman for Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s office. “The state is 100 percent committed to working with Florida counties and local governments regarding potential needs and resources.” Swisher, S., Baitinger, B. and Moreno, A.
