InventHelp, founded in 1984 in Pittsburgh, is attempting to submit this idea, the Self Care Chair, to applicable companies for their consideration.

"I broke my leg in April of last year and again on May 1st of this year, and I hated having to struggle to bathe myself," said an inventor from Indianapolis, Ind. "I could have used an adjustable shower chair like this to get me through."

She developed the SELF CARE CHAIR to make it easier to bathe oneself without having to ask for assistance. This fosters more independence and self-confidence. The design provides easy access to the genital area for ease of cleansing. It also enables the user to wash hair, as well as elevate a leg. The chair is designed for enhanced comfort and convenience. In addition, it features an adjustable design that accommodate the user.

The original design was submitted to the Indianapolis office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
