Patricia Lewis, an active Christian writer, has completed her new book “Knowing”: a gripping personal account that narrates the author’s personal story on giving her life to the Lord, committing mistakes as she grows up, suffering from the consequences that come with sin, and turning to God when problems test her faith in him.
Author Lewis provides an example when she has felt God’s presence in her life: “You see, I had no desire to live. I had thoughts of suicide, daily. I even gave my daughter a loaded gun and explained to her how to pull the trigger. I told her that after she pulled the trigger, she would see a lot of blood, and Mama would not move or answer. I also told her that I loved her very much and this was not because of her or anything that she had done to cause this. Then, I asked her if she understood what I told her, and she said that she did. She said, ‘Yes, ma’am, Mama, but I’m not gonna do it!’ She was five years old at the time. But knowing Jesus Christ, He did not allow her to shoot and kill me. After I told her to shoot and kill me, and she didn’t, God spoke to me. As clear as a man can speak, He said to me, ‘Stop. I will take care of you. Haven’t I brought you this far? I will never leave you nor forsake you! I will be with you even until the end of the world.’ (Matthew 28:20 KJV Bible).”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Patricia Lewis’s compelling work is a living proof that God is a powerful savior. He is always there both in the good times and the bad.
