Pursuit immobilization technique is not always used by police in vehicle-pursuit situations because it’s not always applicable or safe. It’s not supposed to be used at speeds over 35 mph, it requires careful choice of location, and police are liable for most things that could go wrong. The UK doesn’t permit this technique to be used at all. "Considering all this, I decided to develop a better way to stop criminals who flee via vehicle," said a concerned inventor from Edison, N.J.
The SIT (SAFE IMMOBILIZATION TECHNIQUE) allows for safer, more effective vehicle pursuit of a criminal. It eliminates the need to attempt the pursuit immobilization technique, which helps reduce danger, collateral damage and police liability. Overall, it promotes peace of mind.
Serving as an alternative to conventional vehicle-pursuit methods, the system can be produced in design variations, and it's compatible with cars, trucks, buses, SUVs and motorcycles.
