Bedside Urinal Spill Prevention Device Invented (CCT-4000)
PITTSBURGH (PRWEB) October 27, 2017 -- Individuals with disabilities or injuries that prevent them from getting out of bed must utilize a bedside urinal to relieve themselves. Such a device is designed specifically for use by bedridden patients, but can spill during or after use, causing bed linens to become soiled and the patient to lay in urine-soaked clothing.
A nurse and inventor from Sunman, Ind., has invented FLETCH-CATCH, a modified hospital bedside urinal that includes additional features for enhanced comfort and utility. "I am a nurse and have often witnessed patients spilling urine in their bed or on themselves when using conventional bedside urinals," said the inventor. "This design improves upon such devices, reducing the chance of spillage." FLETCH-CATCH prevents messes associated with backflow and spills and helps conceal unpleasant odors. It also helps keep bed linens and clothing clean and dry, preventing skin breakdown due to prolonged exposure to urine wetness.
This invention saves time for nurses and caregivers, reducing the number of calls for assistance resulting from such spills. It also gives patients greater independence, as well as eliminates the embarrassment and discomfort of messy spills.
The original design was submitted to the Cincinnati office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
