National Association of Professional Women Inducts Dr. Christi Monk, The Workplace Leadership Institute & Confidence Suite, Into VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
GARDEN CITY, N.Y. (PRWEB) November 01, 2017 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Dr. Christi Monk as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Dr. Christi into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones. “Her knowledge and experience in her industry are valuable assets to her company and community.”
After experiencing workplace bullying firsthand, Dr. Christi Monk knew she had to do something to address this issue, not only for herself but for other women. “I became interested in Organizational Leadership Development after I realized that I been bullied and mistreated because of corporate culture and personality differences between me and my managers,” she said. Dr. Monk eventually received her Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership Studies with an emphasis on Workplace Bullying from the University of Phoenix.
“After receiving two severance packages without any performance issues, I believed there was a lack of support for women who did not know how to successfully navigate the workplace in such a way that she could amplify her influence,” said Dr. Monk. “Now you may think bullying has been buried deep with all those high school memories – along with bad hair choices – but my front row seat assured me bullying was alive and well in the workplace.”
In 2015, Dr. Monk launched The Workplace Leadership Institute & Confidence Suite. The Institute trains organizations and their employees on how to create a “culture of connectedness,” helping to improve employee engagement and working relationships. The Confidence Suite is a program specifically designed for women “who desire to use their core value system and the navigation tool to align their purpose and passions in a way to add value to any role they hold within the organization to ensure custom and enriching work experiences.”
Dr. Monk is certified in Workplace Mediation, Workplace Bullying, Change Management, Conflict Resolution and Brain-based Coaching. She continues to use her expertise, experiences and knowledge to expand her reach globally. Through speaking engagements, hosting events, conferences and workshops, she hopes to “make a greater impact in the areas of diversity and inclusion with an emphasis on developing more women leaders who are key influencers within her organization regardless of where she sits.”
