Hanley Wood Releases REMODELING 2017 Brand Use Study
Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) November 02, 2017 -- Hanley Wood, the premier information, media, event, and strategic marketing services company serving the residential, commercial design and construction industries, has released the findings of the 2017 REMODELING Brand Use Study. Results from this year’s study show continued movement in brand leaders and a continued increase in willingness among remodelers and home improvement pros to try new brands.
“Our 2017 REMODELING Brand Use Study confirms that it is critical for building product manufacturers and service providers to demonstrate new or advanced product features, quality and performance,” said Rick Strachan, President, Residential Remodeling Group. “Highlighting these features combined with brand reputation and strong brand identity will drive usage among home improvement pros in today’s market.”
REMODELING—the leading media brand in the residential remodeling industry—has conducted its Brand Use Study since 1992. The report has become one of the most anticipated industry resources for trends, brand and product information. The 2017 study was conducted in collaboration with The Farnsworth Group, a leading industry market research firm, and represents a sample of 855 qualified residential remodelers, replacement contractors or residential general contractors with more than 50% of business as remodel/repair.
The 2017 REMODELING Brand Use Study indicates that the average remodeling/replacement job cost for a homeowner is $40,709. The survey found that 44% of projects are additions/alterations, 32% of projects are for major replacements and 24% of projects are maintenance and repair. Thirty-six percent of building material expenditures go to lumberyards or building material dealers, 23% go to warehouse home centers and 13% go to specialty dealer or specialty distributors.
The REMODELING Brand Use Study examined:
• Brand familiarity, brands used most, brands used within the past two years and brand quality across over 54 building product categories
• Firmographics including size of firm annual revenue, new construction vs. remodel/repair work, average 2016 job cost and channel supply share
• Importance of factors influencing brand selection
The 2017 REMODELING Brand Use Survey results can be found on REMODELING’s website here.
