(PRWEB) November 01, 2017 -- G2 Crowd, the world’s leading business software review platform, today released the Fall 2017 E-Commerce Platforms Grid® report to help businesses make the best E-Commerce Platforms technology buying decision. Shopify, BigCommerce, and Salesforce Commerce Cloud were named Leaders in the report, receiving a strong customer satisfaction score with a large market presence.
WooCommerce, Shopify Plus, Miva, 2Checkout (formerly Avangate), FastSpring, Nexternal eCommerce Platform, Unify Enterprise, nopCommerce, CloudCraze, LemonStand, Slatwall, VTEX, and Episerver Digital Commerce were named High Performers in the report, earning strong customer satisfaction marks with smaller market presence scores. Shopify received the highest overall satisfaction score while SuiteCommerce earned the highest overall market presence score.
This report also breaks down the E-Commerce Platforms category, based on market presence and customer satisfaction score, for Small-Business, Mid-Market, and Enterprise reviewers. In all segments (Small-Business, Mid-Market, and Enterprise), Shopify received the highest overall satisfaction score while SuiteCommerce earned the highest overall market presence score.
The Grid® leverages customer satisfaction data reported by authenticated users along with vendor market presence determined from social and public data. Based on a combination of these scores, each software solution is categorized as a Leader, High Performer, Contender or Niche.
Key Findings:
- Plays well with other platforms — Users said they appreciated when their chosen e-commerce platform easily integrated with platforms like Ebay, Facebook, Pinterest, and Amazon. Because an e-commerce platform is supposed to be an all-encompassing tool for users to set up their online stores, users said they much preferred the platforms that played well with others. According to users, the biggest benefit to such platforms was the streamlining of the posting of products, the management of inventory across multiple sites, and the ease of use when utilizing third-party e-commerce supportive tools.
- Steep learning curve — The majority of users admitted that when using an e-commerce platform the first time, the learning curve is expected. However, users were dissatisfied with products that were bulky or slow, or had poor or little training documentation. According to users, when the individualized elements of an e-commerce platform—such as setting up orders and products, organizing customer contacts, and tracking campaigns—are difficult to grasp and master, then building an effective and polished e-commerce site becomes overwhelming. Users disliked when their chosen e-commerce platform didn’t conform to the needs of their stores or easily integrate with other necessary software solutions.
About the E-Commerce Platforms Grid® report:
- The report is based on more than 2,525 reviews written by business professionals.
- Of the 188 products listed in G2 Crowd’s E-Commerce Platforms category, the ranked products each received ten or more reviews to qualify for inclusion on the Grid®.
