InventHelp, a leading inventor service company, is working to submit Slide N Handle to companies for their review.

Wheelchair-bound individuals typically face problems with basic mobility, making what would seem to be simple tasks much more difficult. For these individuals, most tasks must be completed carefully and slowly so as not to get injured or fall. This includes the process of transferring in and out of the wheelchair, a particularly difficult task for some that must be taken with caution.

A patient care associate and inventor from Sylmar, Calif., has invented the patent-pending SLIDE N HANDLE, an accessory for a wheelchair that stabilizes it while an individual transfers from the wheelchair to another location, such as a toilet, bed or sofa. "This device was inspired by my job," said the inventor. "I invented it after watching elderly people struggle to get in and out of their support chairs." SLIDE N HANDLE helps increase safety and prevents injury during the transfer process from a wheelchair. Additionally, it helps remove the frustration associated with transferring from one location to the next while using a wheelchair.

With this invention, wheelchair users can foster a sense of independence and accomplishment. It would also appeal to caregivers, as it provides them with greater stability and peace of mind.

The original design was submitted to the Los Angeles office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
