Eventbase Named Gold Winner for “Best Event App” for Third Time at 2017 EventTech Awards
LAS VEGAS, NV, TX (PRWEB) November 14, 2017 -- This year Eventbase won the award for its work on the official app for South by Southwest® (SXSW®), where it introduced attendees to “Abby”, a purpose-built automated bot that could answer attendee questions with personalized recommendations and a little attitude. Embedded within the official 2017 SXSW Go mobile app, the AI chatbot acted as a personalized concierge to answer questions and enhance the attendee experience at the massive conference and festivals that took place in Austin from March 2017.
Abby guided attendees to sessions, shows and networking possibilities, offering users quick replies within a familiar messaging interface. Send Abby a taco emoji, and she would help guide you to the nearest food trucks. Abby uses Natural Language Processing to communicate a more meaningful experience to attendees during the event in a fun, casual style. The app also introduced SXSW Recommends, a feature that offered attendees hyper-local recommendations by detecting your location through Bluetooth beacons, then suggested people you may want to meet within the same session room as you. The result was thousands of new connections and a seamless networking experience.
Eventbase was previously awarded gold for “Best Event App” at the EventTech awards in 2014 and 2015, and took the silver in 2016. In 2017, Eventbase also won a Webby Award for Best Event App.
