Michael Allman to Bring Direct Democracy to California's 52nd Congressional District
LA JOLLA, Calif. (PRWEB) November 01, 2017 -- Michael Allman will announce his candidacy for Congress in California’s 52nd District at noon on Tuesday, November 14th at the La Jolla Sheraton (3299 Holiday Ct., La Jolla, CA. 92037).
“I am running for Congress because the political infighting and posturing that’s happening in Washington has to change,” said Allman. “Voters are more engaged in political debate than ever before, but their views are not well represented in the current politicized environment. I’m going to change that. When I am elected to Congress, I am going to vote on issues the way my constituents tell me to vote, on an issue-by-issue basis.”
Allman has designed a software program that will allow voters in the district to easily engage by obtaining important information on issues and registering their opinions. “Instead of me telling the voters what I am going to do, the voters are going to tell me what to do,” said Allman. “It takes the power away from special interests and lobbyists and puts the decision making back where it belongs – with the citizens. I’m voting with the people.”
Allman, a 20-year resident of San Diego County, has been a senior executive with locally-based Sempra Energy, and was the President of a successful start-up software company.
“The voters of San Diego lean left on some issues, and lean right on others, but their representatives vote overwhelmingly along party lines. I will listen to the voters,” said Allman. “This seat belongs to the people of California’s 52nd Congressional District. It’s time we take it back from partisan politics and let the voters have their voice.”
