The Betty Skinner Insurance Agency, a family managed firm with offices that serve communities throughout the greater Seattle metropolitan region, is issuing a number of details regarding a recently concluded charity event to help raise donations for research into cures and treatments for Alzheimer’s.

The 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's in Washington was a rousing success, and generated both awareness and support for the cause within the Seattle community. The event happened on October 16th and the Betty Skinner Insurance team was honored to have one of their own team members, Maggie Wilson, walk in support of her grandmother who is presently living with Alzheimer's.

“We’re proud to see so many people in our community come out and join us to help fund research into Alzheimer’s, and our team is committed to being Agents of Change and working to support charities in our area,” said Betty Skinner, owner and chief executive of the Betty Skinner Insurance Agency.

The Skinner team reported that much of the success of the charity event hinged on the use of social media and email channels to galvanize support and inform participants in the Seattle area. Additionally, the firm produced a full length article discussing the charity event in their online magazine “Our Hometown,” which was widely read by area residents: http://bettyskinnerinsurance.com/magazines/.

The 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer's was only one of several major charity events undertaken by the Betty Skinner Insurance Agency since 2015. As regional representatives of the Agents of Change movement, the firm works closely with new local charitable causes on a quarterly basis.
