One of the Grant-A-Starr Foundation's key fundraising events — the annual Cure for Tomorrow Gala — is a special evening and dinner benefiting the advancement of diagnostic testing to save children’s lives. “This year's gala will celebrate a major milestone of raising $1.2 million in donations since the foundation’s inception to save children’s lives through early diagnosis,” said Rod Starr, founder and board chairman.
Now in its fourth year, the Cure for Tomorrow Gala will be generously hosted by the Cordua Family and their flagship restaurant - Artista. Restauranteur Michael Cordúa and Executive Chef David Cordúa, ranked one of the top ten chefs in Texas, of Cordúa Restaurants will be present to announce the menu. Accentuating the Gala will be one of Houston’s leading artists, Edgar Medina, who will paint live during the event with his exceptional work put up for auction at the end of the evening.
The event will be emceed by Ms. Jacquie Baly, President of BalyProjects LLC and leader in Houston’s business and political communities for more than two decades. Leading research doctors from Texas Children’s Hospital and Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital will also be in attendance to discuss their life-saving medical research, which are supported by the Grant-A-Starr Foundation.
