Retrospect, Inc. Announces New Cloud Storage Providers and Other Enhancements for Windows and Mac Products

(PRWEB) November 07, 2017 -- Retrospect®, Inc., makers of award-winning Retrospect Backup & Recovery software, today announced product enhancements for its data protection suite with the release of Retrospect 12.6 for Windows and Retrospect 14.6 for Mac, with seamless cloud storage integration for DigitalOcean Spaces, Google Cloud Storage locations in Frankfurt, Germany and São Paulo, Brazil and Aufiero Informatica in Argentina.
Off-site data protection is a critical piece of any business’s data protection strategy, as corporate data is always at risk from accidental loss, malicious threats, or natural disasters. Keeping a copy of critical data in a separate location safeguards it against loss, providing a further layer of protection. In addition, an off-site location can securely store archived content that is no longer in use.
Cloud backup to third-party cloud storage providers allows Retrospect customers a seamless way to protect their Windows, Mac, and Linux environment off-site. Other Enhancements
In addition, Retrospect for Windows and Retrospect for Mac now include the following new features:
- Daily Backup Report Email for Large-Scale Environments – Retrospect's daily backup report email has been improved to support better analytics for large-scale environments with hundreds of clients, with a high-level summary, a section for errors, and a table of clients that are not protected.
- Customizable Email Template – Customers are now able to customize Retrospect's HTML email template with their own header and footer, enabling IT administrators to add their contact details for quick access to support.
- Improved Error Reporting – Retrospect has always had excellent error reporting. If there is an issue with your backup or restore, we call it out in the operations log. To reduce the noise of spurious warnings, Retrospect no longer identifies the following issues as warnings: cached files that do not compare (operating system files during a live system backup) or files that are no longer present (files that were present during the scan but not during backup).
- Networking Improvements – Retrospect now better adapts to network hiccups and timeouts with a faster retry mechanism and improved error handling.

Retrospect 12.6 for Windows and Retrospect 14.6 for Mac are free for customers that have Retrospect 12.x for Windows and Retrospect 14.x for Mac and available immediately. The latest version of Retrospect Virtual is also available immediately as a free update to customers. Retrospect is available in 6 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
