MOAA awarded Top Advocacy Association by The Hill Newspaper for 11th Consecutive Year
ALEXANDRIA, Va. (PRWEB) November 07, 2017 -- The political newspaper, The Hill, has named the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) one of the top lobbying associations in Washington, D.C., for the eleventh consecutive year.
According to The Hill, “Those named to this year's list, The Hill Top Lobbyists list have climbed to the top of their profession, demonstrating an ability to influence Washington's power brokers on behalf of the interest groups, corporations and industries they represent.
The Hill particularly cited retired Lt. Gen. Dana Atkins, MOAA's President. “Atkins took charge of the association in 2016, stepping into the fight to protect the pay and benefits of U.S. troops,” The Hill stated.
General Atkins responded, “It's a tremendous honor for MOAA, not only to be recognized as a Top Lobbying Association for the 11th consecutive year, but also to be among the esteemed group of individuals and organizations recognized in 2017.
"As the nation's largest and most influential association of military officers, MOAA considers it a privilege to serve our nation's servicemembers and veterans and their families - a mission we believe is fundamental to maintaining a strong national defense.
"Our association's success as a leader on military and veteran issues relies on the commitment and leadership of our board of directors, chapters and councils, and members - who each and every day live our motto of 'never stop serving.'
"2017 has been a challenging year, and we expect more of the same in 2018. We will continue to work hard on behalf of those who serve, engaging with our military, veteran, and community partners, and every branch of government to ensure the nation acknowledges the sacrifices our servicemembers, veterans, and military family members are willing to make on behalf of all Americans."
