The need increases as the weather changes because there’s not enough shelter for everyone in need, and most don’t allow pets. This ‘Gratitude Gathering’ is one way to say we care, and thank you to those who have sacrificed to protect our freedom and rights.

According to the National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, an estimated 39,471 veterans are homeless on any given night. Furthermore, two-thirds served our country for at least three years and one-third were stationed in a war zone.

In order to assist homeless veterans and their pets in Colorado Springs, Tiffany and Brian Canady, founders of The Canady Team at Premier Real Estate Group, for the second year are hosting a donation drive. The Canady Team will be collecting blankets, new coats, gloves, boots and socks, which can be dropped off at 605 South Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.

“Most everyone knows how it feels to be cold and hungry. The need increases as the weather changes because there’s not enough shelter for everyone in need, and most don’t allow pets. This ‘Gratitude Gathering’ is one way to say we care, and thank you to those who have sacrificed to protect our freedom and rights,” said Tiffany.

The Canady Team will have a donation box set up in their office and able to accept donations. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The team will be visiting the parks, groups and organizations in need bi-weekly or sooner, depending on the amount collected, to distribute to homeless veterans and their pets.

“The Canady Team believes ‘giving is living’ and ‘you give to grow.’ It’s the little things we can do to make a difference in our community,” concluded Brian. “Last year the team ordered fabric and made over 30 blankets to distribute, and this year our goal is to distribute at least 100 blankets.”
