Armstrong Teasdale Earns Top Marks in 2018 Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index
ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) November 09, 2017 -- Armstrong Teasdale, a law firm with offices across the U.S., proudly announces that it received the highest possible score on the 2018 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey and report on corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) workplace equality. This is the third year in a row that Armstrong Teasdale has earned a 100 percent score. The survey is administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, an arm of the largest LGBTQ civil rights organization in the United States.
“Armstrong Teasdale continues to focus energy and resources on inclusion and diversity,” said John Beulick, managing partner of Armstrong Teasdale. “Earning a perfect score on the HRC Corporate Equality Index is an indicator that our efforts have been both successful and meaningful. We will continue to focus on and make the necessary investments to meet the challenges and opportunities going forward.”
Armstrong Teasdale joins the ranks of 609 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks on the 16th annual scorecard.
“I couldn’t be more proud to receive this honor for the third year in a row,” said Jovita Foster, partner and chair of the Armstrong Teasdale Inclusion Committee. “We’ve made significant investments in our inclusion programming in 2017, so it’s very rewarding to see those accomplishments recognized. I’m so thankful to work at a law firm that understands the importance of inclusion and diversity for both attorneys and staff.”
The 2018 CEI rated 947 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices including nondiscrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBTQ community. Armstrong Teasdale’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria has resulted in a 100 percent ranking and designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.
"The top-rated employers in this year's Corporate Equality Index have demonstrated that LGBTQ equality is not just right, but smart business,” said Deena Fidas, director of Workplace Equality Programs at the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. “By implementing LGBTQ-inclusive policies, practices and benefits, Armstrong Teasdale is helping to lead the way toward full equality for all, as well as strengthening its ability to attract and retain a diverse, talented workforce.”
