IOLcompass and TruePlan Guidance

With accurate incision and lens guidance/alignment from IOLcompass along with the revolutionary technology of Pentacam AXL, surgeons and patients will benefit from pre-planning to post-op with this collaboration.

TrueVision® Systems a world leader in digital visualization and augmented reality guidance for microsurgery today announced the integration between the OCULUS Pentacam AXL anterior eye segment tomography system and TrueVision’s patented TruePlan® and IOLcompass computer guidance software for use in cataract and refractive procedures using Leica Microsystems surgical microscopes.

The partnership combines the ophthalmology industry’s most notable medical technology companies creating a best-in-class mapping and guidance solution.
“Integrating these stellar technologies is a complete win for surgeons who place accuracy and workflow efficiency at the top of their list,” said Forrest Fleming, TrueVision chief executive officer. “With accurate incision and lens guidance/alignment from IOLcompass along with the revolutionary technology of Pentacam AXL, surgeons and patients will benefit from pre-planning to post-op with this collaboration.”

The Pentacam® AXL represents the next generation of the successful and time-proven Pentacam® HR. Anterior segment tomography and optical biometry – all in one device and with a single measuring operation.

IOLcompass generates templates on the live surgical field of view using Leica Microsystems surgical microscopes to aid surgeons in navigating Toric lens alignment and LRI/AK incisions during cataract and refractive procedures. IOLcompass aids surgeons by providing dynamic guidance of the live surgical view via on-screen templates that are sharply displayed in ultra-HD.

A cornerstone of the Digital Microscope Platform, IOLcompass includes multiple features that improve surgical workflow, expand microscope integration and extend functionality.
