Pere Ortís announces publication of ‘The Joy of New York’

Inspired by over 30 years of living in New York, Pere Ortís wrote the new travel book, “The Joy of New York: A Travel Book” (published by Archway Publishing), containing a collection of travel stories to offer tourists an in-depth glimpse into what makes New York City “one of the most interesting places to visit in the world.”

Including personal stories and historical facts, Ortis teaches readers about local landmarks in New York City such as the Conference House on Staten Island, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and the Yorkville District. Ortís also writes about the Brooklyn Bridge, Chinatown and Little Italy, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Times Square and many other local attractions.

“New York City is the Mecca of the world tourism,” Ortís states, adding that his book shares, “a vivid and sincere description of the town of New York, done with love and admiration.”

About the Author
Pere Ortís was born in Bellpuig, Catalonia, Spain, and completed his studies at NYU. He has lived the majority of his life in New York City, but has also resided in Honduras. Ortis is the author of 19 novels, plus three books of short stories, five of essays – mainly about Catalan nationalistic themes – three travel books, four books about the Catalan language, and several translations from Catalan into English, and from English into Catalan. He has also published essays in a couple of local magazines.
