Giant Christmas Tree Arrives in Hollywood for 35th Year of L. Ron Hubbard’s Winter Wonderland
HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (PRWEB) November 15, 2017 -- A sixty-foot Christmas tree arrived in Hollywood for the city’s 35th annual “L. Ron Hubbard’s Winter Wonderland” signifying the launch of the holiday season in Los Angeles. The tradition started in 1983 when author, humanitarian and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard donated Hollywood’s first giant Christmas tree with the message “On the day when we can fully trust each other, there will be peace on earth.”
The massive White Fir was supplied by Oliver Holt Sons and Daughters Christmas Trees, who have been supplying the Winter Wonderland set with its trees for 23 consecutive years. This year’s tree was transported 500 miles from Lake Almanor in Northern California and weighs approximately 6,000lbs. Hoisted into place by a 40-tonne crane operated by BHC Crane of Long Beach, CA, the tree was placed in its home for its 35th year as passersby watched as the tree was maneuvered into place on Hollywood Boulevard.
L. Ron Hubbard’s Winter Wonderland with the classic wintry setting with the magical Santa house surrounded by a forest of real evergreen trees is located in the heart of Hollywood at 6724 Hollywood Blvd, one block east of Highland. The set will be open on the night of the Hollywood Christmas Parade, November 26 and daily throughout the month of December with entertainment, activities for children and families and of course Santa will be available for photos and to listening to the holiday wishes of all.
Ever since 1983 the wintry display has continued through the generosity of the Friends of L. Ron Hubbard and the Church of Scientology and has brought joy and happiness to hundreds of thousands of Angelenos and visitors to Hollywood from scores of countries from around the world.
