Global Voice Group (GVG) has stepped up its social commitment, which has materialized though several charity projects for more than a decade, by pursuing its partnership with the Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation. The company is still playing the role of main donor to this foundation, which was created just under two years ago, by financing initiatives that contribute to the well-being and thriving of the most vulnerable communities.

The Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation was founded in order to bring concrete and sustainable solutions to poverty and social exclusion in Haiti. Without neglecting first-aid assistance ̶ which it has provided to several hundreds of Haitian families since 2016 ̶ the Foundation favors a long- term social transformation approach. It encourages the consultation and involvement of communities in the building of a more inclusive Haiti.

In line with this philosophy, the Foundation emphasizes important factors such as education, the modernization of villages and the revitalization of sectors like agriculture, which plays a prominent role in the development and empowerment of the country’s rural communities. Since 2016, it has made it possible to build close to 3 kilometers of new farm roads, while directly supporting 500 farmers. Approximately 650 Haitian schoolchildren also benefited from this direct support, through the distribution of school supplies and furniture in several establishments, among other interventions.

The Foundation recently inaugurated the first phase of a project aiming to rebuild the houses that were destroyed in Anse du Clerc. Last September, it installed solar kits in all the freshly rehabilitated and modernized houses, in order to make life easier for the Haitian households and allow the children to do their homework in the evening. The provision of solar energy in Anse du Clerc and in Panyol ̶ where approximately fifty families benefited from similar kits last April ̶ illustrates the kind of project run by the Foundation in the context of its “Smart Villages” initiative. In two years, the Dr. Louis G. Lamothe Foundation has launched multiple initiatives involving the most precarious communities. Global Voice Group is proud to have been its financial supporter since its creation and fully endorses its transformative and inclusive vision of assistance in developing countries.
