SmartBid Announces Integration with Autodesk BIM 360 to Simplify Construction Document Management
LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) November 14, 2017 -- SmartBid, the leading construction bid management software used by thousands of general contractor offices worldwide, is proud to announce an integration with Autodesk BIM 360 construction management platform. The integration gives general contractors the ability to access their enhanced BIM 360 project files and plans from their SmartBid online plan room. With this new integration, general contractors can further simplify how they organize project documents and send invitations to bid to subcontractors, reducing time, costs and errors during the bidding phase of projects.
"According to our latest construction tech survey, 30% of construction professionals stated that none of the multiple software applications they use daily integrate data with each other. Our aim is to help our clients optimize and integrate the software they already have in place, so that they can use all, including ours, to the fullest. Autodesk has a great product in BIM 360 and for all current users and future users of their product we want to make sure that those using SmartBid can streamline their document management between the two solutions," explained Trent Miskelly, Senior Vice President of Products at JBKnowledge, makers of SmartBid.
Users of SmartBid and Autodesk BIM 360 can access and set up the integration at no cost. SmartBid users will be able to view their Autodesk BIM 360 plans and import their project files into their SmartBid plan room for a holistic view of their project documents to catch possible errors before sending out their invitations to bid. The centralized plan room can then be shared with subcontractors, allowing them to view all project documents in one location, as well as provide the best bid for every project. SmartBid users can also set access limitations on documents, hiding them from specific codes or requiring a confidentiality agreement or prequalification to access, to avoid the unintentional publication of sensitive information.
“Bid management and cost estimating are often difficult processes and exhaustive to manage on the part of the project owner,” said Sarah Hodges, Director of Autodesk’s Construction Business Line. “SmartBid’s integration with Autodesk’s BIM 360 construction management platform is meant to improve communication and collaboration between general contractors and subcontractors to help ease this point and to create a single source of truth for the bid process.”
General contractors can learn more about the SmartBid and Autodesk BIM 360 integration by requesting a free demo or calling (866) 431-1050. SmartBid users can contact the SmartBid Customer Service team to help with the integration implementation, as well as ask any additional questions.
