Nationwide Human Services Nonprofit, RHD, Improves Critical Care Capabilities for High-Risk Customers Using iland DRaaS with Zerto
HOUSTON and BOSTON (PRWEB) November 14, 2017 -- iland and Zerto today announced that Resources for Human Development (RHD), a national human services nonprofit, has significantly improved its IT resiliency and disaster recovery capabilities using the iland Secure Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service (DRaaS) solution with Zerto. RHD now achieves failover of critical business operations systems such as payroll and electronic medical records (EMR) with highly aggressive Recovery Time Objectives (RTO), an essential component in ensuring that RHD can deliver round the clock services to customers in need.
RHD supports more than 160 human service programs across 15 U.S. states - serving tens of thousands of high-risk customers every year with 24x7 care to aid with intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral health, homelessness and addiction recovery. RHD had been experiencing performance issues with their previous DR solution, and this was unacceptable to the company’s mission and patient needs. They needed a reliable, cloud-based DR solution to ensure there was no interruption to services in the event of a disaster.
“The decisions our team members make are life and death,” said Allen Howard, Manager of Enterprise Architecture at RHD. “Our consumers are often vulnerable and rely on us to support them 24 hours a day. If our IT systems are not available, then we’re putting lives at risk.”
Additionally, meeting HIPAA compliance guidelines is essential across RHD’s IT operations. Having a small infrastructure team to handle many IT tasks, it was also important for RHD to find a VMware-based cloud provider that could streamline onboarding and ongoing management with the broadest OS/platform support while avoiding complex conversion processes.
“Ensuring that we can bring quality care to people all the time requires many steps and careful due diligence,” said Howard. “iland DRaaS with Zerto significantly strengthened our IT resiliency and gave us the confidence, technology and resources to meet those HIPAA requirements, and allows our small team to easily configure, manage and monitor all DR activities.”
iland believes that their analyst accolades validate its growth in the DRaaS space. iland was recently named a leader in the 2017 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Disaster Recovery as a Service.* The company was also named as a 2017 Forrester Wave leader for Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) providers, in addition to being recognized as Zerto Cloud Provider of the Year for both 2016 and 2017.
“Supporting RHD and the work they do across our country is incredibly important," said Brian Ussher, President & Co-founder at iland. “Non-profits like RHD need access to the most reliable DRaaS technologies to ensure their work continues without failure, downtime or lost patient data.”
“iland understands the broad challenges many organizations face ensuring their critical operations remain uninterrupted as enabled by technology, particularly those with strict regulatory compliance requirements such as healthcare,” said Don Wales, VP, Global Cloud Sales at Zerto. “iland's Secure DRaaS with Zerto solution allows users such as RHD to realize newfound benefits associated with increased IT resilience as they better serve their customers, while greatly simplifying reporting for auditors.”
