Nicholas Collins’s new book “Pardoned” is a captivating tale of redemption from sin, second chances, and acceptance of one’s fate.
(PRWEB) November 15, 2017 -- Nicholas Collins, a fun-loving father to his beautiful three-year-old daughter, has completed his new book “Pardoned”: a poignant story of Sean as he deals with loss and pain throughout his life, brought about by the overwhelming tragedies of death, denial, and loneliness.
Author Collins enlightens the readers with the fact that most of the pain people feel can come from either a fateful occurrence or self-infliction: “I was also shutting doors in my head, and I wasn’t ready to let anyone in. The walk home gave me time to think. My head was sore, which made it hard to really concentrate on anything. My head was semi-clear about what had happened last night. I also referred to what had happened as ‘it’. ‘It’, again, was easier than coming to terms with verbalizing what had happened. I started to get a twitch every couple f seconds as I walked. I kept thinking, ‘Between that, the haunting memories and my neck, what was going to happen next? How could my life possibly get any worse? It can’t!’ The drugs and alcohol were not helping with the guilt that ran through my body. I kept trying to take back answering that fucking door and waking up my dad. I kept thinking, ‘Why him? Why not me? What made him so mad? I mean, they always had their differences.’ They yelled at each other over property line disputes, possibly even shoved one another, but nothing that would warrant taking it to this level. ‘Why him and not me?’”
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Nicholas Collins’s stirring masterpiece follows the life-changing journey of a man bombarded with hardships, and how he yearns for a chance of salvation from the murky situation he finds himself caught into. But, is it too late to change for the better?
