BTL Working Group releases new BTL Test Package
ATLANTA (PRWEB) November 16, 2017 -- The BACnet Testing Laboratories' Working Group (BTL-WG) has released BTL Test Package v15.0, which contains updated testing procedures to be used by manufacturers to pre-test products for BACnet compliance, and to test devices qualifying for BTL Certification. The BTL-WG was formed by BACnet International to oversee the establishment of the BACnet conformance certification and listing program.
"Test Plan 15.0 adds testing capability in the areas of Data Sharing and Device Management and gives developers additional Objects," stated Duffy O'Craven, BTL Manager. "Additionally, it separates Device Management and Network Management BIBBS into separate categories."
"Tested and listed products are crucial to the success of the BACnet standard," stated Andy McMillan, president & managing director of BACnet International. "In furthering our work of maintaining a global standard, the interoperability ensured by BTL testing will keep BACnet vital, and assist in its adoption and user satisfaction."
With Test Package 15.0 now available, BTL testing has entered a transition period. During transition, products up to Protocol Revision 14 can be tested with either Test Package 14.0 or Test Package 15.0; the decision is up to the applicant. Products claiming Protocol Revision 15 or higher must be tested with Test Package 15.0.
In addition, now that Test Package 15.0 is released, the minimum protocol revision for BTL Testing will become version 14 on January 1, 2019 and the minimum protocol revision for BTL testing will become version 15 on January 1, 2022.
