J&S Financial Services Kicks Off New Community Program by Partnering with A Child’s Place to End Holiday Hunger for Homeless Schoolchildren
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) November 17, 2017 -- J&S Financial Services of Charlotte, NC announces the creation of a philanthropic program designed to strengthen and enrich the community it serves. By working closely with nonprofit groups and community leaders, the agency hopes to bring greater awareness to important local causes by the formation of 90-day campaigns which aid worthy organizations, families and individuals. “We’re truly passionate about mobilizing support for those in need in our community and hope everyone will fully embrace these campaigns,” said Stephanie Washington, owner of J&S Financial Services.
Washington has chosen to debut the agency’s new Community Program by partnering with nonprofit A Child’s Place to fight the hunger and educational instability experienced by homeless children. Most client-families are members of the working poor, for whom homelessness is an unfortunate time in their lives, not a way of life. Their children experience the anxiety that comes with instability and hunger, which greatly affects school attendance and performance. In comparison with kids from stable homes, they are often two to three grade levels behind and have three times more behavioral problems. During the last school year, A Child’s Place was able to help 2,075 local children. The folks at J&S are specifically focused on raising funds for their Feed A Family Gift Card Drive, to help with the purchase of $30 Food Lion and WalMart gift cards to ensure these children and their families are able to enjoy a good holiday meal.
“We’re honored to kick off our exciting new community involvement program with such a vital, grassroots community resource,” said Washington. “With 4,000 homeless children in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, and only 17% of children chronically absent reading at grade level, students are in need of our help. We understand the financial hardship associated with the holiday season and we would hate to any child come home to a table without food.”
To accomplish this objective, the team at J&S Financial Services is employing a three-pronged approach for this and all future campaigns. First, they will engage their own network of clients, friends and business partners through social media and an email outreach campaign. Second, interested parties will be directed to a donations page where a fully detailed story will outline each cycle’s beneficiary. And third, the agency’s monthly community magazine, Our Hometown, will use a full page to feature the current Community Cause. The electronic version of this month’s issue spotlighting the fundraiser for A Child’s Place may be viewed at http://jsfinancialsvcs.com/magazines/.
To join J&S Financial Services in fighting to end hunger among schoolchildren experiencing homelessness this holiday season, donors are invited to visit http://jsfinancialsvcs.com/causes/feed-family-gift-card-drive/ and are encouraged to share the page with their own circles of influence to help spread the word.
