“The Little Red Dog in a Box”: an engaging book about how Cody’s owner Mimi and her brother Buddy, have taken great care of him. “The Little Red Dog in a Box” is the creation of published author, Tori Carrato, a writer currently living in Southern California who loves her family and her pet dog.
Cody shares, “Among my toys are two that I get a lot of use out of. One is a rubber chicken, and the other, a rubber duck. Regularly, Mimi or Buddy will hit the ball with one of them, and sometimes Mimi uses both of them to throw the ball.
Another teaching lesson results from the duck and chicken. Mimi teaches me how to hit the ball with each of them. She puts the ball in front of one and says, ‘Hit the chicken!’ or ‘Hit the duck!’ and I nose it, and the ball goes to her. She tells the entire family about my ball-playing skills.
There is another game we play. Mimi lines up several of my toys in a row and asks me which one she should use to throw the ball. I get to choose. She comes up with several different games so I will not get fat and lazy. Not much chance of that since she keeps me on what she calls ‘a healthy diet.’ No biscuits and gravy for me. When Mimi diets, everybody diets.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Tori Carrato’s new book is a delightful story on a great bond between human beings and animals intended for animal lovers who want the best for their pets at home; Cody’s thoughts about his owner and others is written with wit and effective humor that will surely give readers a hearty laugh.
This book is written by Tori Carrato upon the suggestion of her brother and the awe of other family members over Cody’s behavior and remarkable skills.
