Ancient Dinners LLC to host CENA: AN ANCIENT ROMAN FEAST
(PRWEB) November 16, 2017 -- Ancient Dinners is hosting its new heritage celebratory event, from 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Aperto Restaurant in Washington DC with two renowned speakers: Award-winning author, chef, food historian, and Mediterranean Diet advocate Amy Riolo and celebrity Chef/Restaurateur, Owner of Aperto and Al Tiramisu, Sommelier, and Culinary Ambassador of Basilicata Luigi Diotaiuti.
Named “the next big thing” in the culinary world by Elle Spain, acclaimed duo Amy Riolo and Luigi Diotaiuti are known for telling the whole story behind food and reclaiming culinary traditions on the brink of extinction. On December 5th they will recreate an ancient Roman feast that is perfectly suited to today’s palates and upholds the tenants of the Mediterranean Diet at Chef Luigi’s new restaurant, Aperto.
Chef Amy will explain the history of each dish along with its’ nutritional benefits. She will also reveal how the ancient Roman festival of Saturnia shaped many of our modern Christmas culinary traditions, and how some Jewish and Muslim communities in the Mediterranean region enjoy these foods during their holy days as well. Chef Luigi will share the Roman histories of his wine pairings and reveal some ancient dining practices which he still upholds in his restaurants today.
Ancient Dinners is inspired by the ancient Greek Symposia and offers hands-on learning experiences about the world's cultures, health, wellness and longevity based on ancient principles, scientifically proven today. With pop-up delectable meals hosted by the finest restaurants and talks led by acclaimed speakers, Ancient Dinners' guests enjoy a new distinct and engaging dining experience.
