Plants of Ruskin (d.b.a. AltMed Florida) Receives Authorization to Commence Medical Cannabis Cultivation in Florida
SARASOTA, Fla. (PRWEB) November 20, 2017 -- The Florida Department of Health has granted authorization for Plants of Ruskin, doing business as (d.b.a.) AltMed Florida, to begin cultivating medical cannabis for Florida patients.
The confirmation from Florida’s Office of Medical Marijuana Use “to begin cultivating low-THC and full medical cannabis at its cultivation facility located at 5909 Highway 41 North, Apollo Beach, Florida” is a defining moment for the company and for Florida patients.
“We have worked diligently to build what we believe will be the most advanced indoor cultivation facility in Florida, and one of the finest in the country,” said AltMed Florida CEO John Tipton. “We are completing construction of our 50,000-square-foot phase-1 now. We will start seeding immediately, commencing production of our comprehensive portfolio of medical cannabis products. Phase-2 and phase-3, with construction starting next year, will expand our facility to 150,000 square feet.
Earlier this year Plants of Ruskin and AltMed Enterprises partnered to combine AltMed’s medical cannabis research and development, extraction and delivery expertise, with Plants of Ruskin’s multi-generational agricultural experience.
“AltMed Enterprises was born in Florida and through years of research and the diligent work of our expert team we have developed a pipeline of next-generation medical cannabis products in Arizona,” said AltMed Enterprises CEO Michael Smullen. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide access to these proven products, through AltMed Florida, to Florida patients.”
As one of only 13 Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC) licensees in Florida, Plants of Ruskin (d.b.a. AltMed Florida) is poised to become a leader in serving Florida’s medical cannabis patients.
MüV™ cannabis infused products will be available by delivery and exclusively in “MüV by AltMed Florida” dispensaries throughout the state. AltMed Florida expects to have a minimum of six dispensaries serving east and west coast Florida by the end of 2018.
Products are expected to be available for Florida patients early in 2018.
