ANNAPOLIS, Md. (PRWEB) November 17, 2017 -- Ginger Cove, Annapolis’ premier life care retirement community, unveiled its newly renovated and expanded Bugeye Bar and Café Thursday.
“Residents are thrilled with this exciting new space,” said Dr. Edgar E. Mallick, Jr., Chief Executive Officer. “They can now enjoy views of Gingerville Creek while enjoying their coffee or glass of wine in a beautiful, contemporary setting.”
The renovations, which began in July, double the amount of seating in the bar and café to 60 seats and expand the area to 5400 square feet. CRGA Design and Waverly Construction were the contractors for the project.
More than 70 residents attended the grand opening. Special guests included Dr. Eddie McDevitt, President of Annapolis Life Care, Inc., and residents Skip Gardiner, Sandra Mayo, Grace Stark, Joan Methfessel, and Judy Duckett, who were recognized for serving on the project’s advisory committee.
A generous bequest from former resident, Mary Gale Buchanan, provided funding for a substantial part of the project.
The event coincided with Ginger Cove’s weekly Thursday Happy Hour and attendees took advantage of half priced drinks. A signature drink—the “Bugeye Cider”—was created for the occasion.
The renovations and expansion are part of a larger project, which will include an adjoining outdoor deck and renovation of an adjacent dining room.
